About Carlie McWilliams
2016 Outstanding Disability Service Employee winner
Carlie McWilliams is the Northern Territory Director of Life Without Barriers. Carlie leads teams in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs, motivating and inspiring them to provide high quality care and support for people with disability.
Carlie has brought her skills in management, and the knowledge from an Honours degree and Masters qualification in Psychology on key projects, in the rejuvenation of the Community Pathways Project, with Carlie overseeing the design and construction of 2 new purpose-built centres in Darwin and Alice Springs. The centres provide tailored support serves and include state-of-the-art features, such as sensory rooms, the only ones in the Territory.
Carlie’s approach to operational service delivery is imbued with her values of being responsive and imaginative; and she has worked to review and refresh programs and processes at Life Without Barriers, and implement continuous improvement in way to seek out the interest and personal goals of service users. She continuously goes above and beyond in her search to provide for all service users. She has implemented many programs and initiatives to develop partnerships with community, elders, government and private sector to improve the lives of people with disability.
